Paolo Zanotto, virologist at the University of Sao Paulo, says that the use of hydroxychloroquine is the most effective method to save thousands of lives and prevent a historic tragedy.

Virologist Paolo Zanotto, professor in the Department of Microbiology at USP, says that the use of hydroxychloroquine in coronavirus patients is the most effective method to save thousands of lives, prevent a colossal tragedy and overcome the pandemic that is plaguing the world. A scholar of the evolution of the virus, with a doctorate at the University of Oxford, Zanotto participated in the development of a protocol that has been adopted in recent weeks by some of the main hospitals in São Paulo – such as Santa Casa, Albert Einstein and Sancta Maggiore – in treatment of patients with initial Covid-19 symptoms.

According to this protocol – to which the BSM report had exclusive access -, hydroxychloroquine should be administered to patients at the very beginning of the disease, preferably from the 2nd to the 4th day of the appearance of the first symptoms, such as fever, cough, runny nose and breathing more than 22 times per minute.

People who manifest this condition should receive the medication at home, which would relieve hospital networks and the health system as a whole. According to Zanotto, it does not make sense to give the medicine only to patients who are in the advanced stage of the disease, as the Ministry of Health has been defending. “Mandetta is wrong,” says Zanotto.

The efficacy of hydroxychloroquine (in association with azithromycin) is being proven by several international clinical studies, but it remains strangely ignored by the mainstream media, governments and part of the scientific community. Zanotto says that there are political-ideological reasons for this attitude, but he warns: hydroxychloroquine is not the “Bolsonaro’s medicine” nor the “Trump’s medicine” – it is the medicine of life.

Dr. Harvey Risch: Hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin, and Other Therapeutics Highly Effective in Early COVID Treatment

I’ve railed against this in the media that we are a part of, and the way that the propaganda reacts to this is, “Ignore it. Ignore all of this.” I’m saying this now because the general public has to be the one that gets angry. The general public should be furious at the way people have been treated in the country by suppression of these drugs, by that kind of website that suppresses the ability of doctors to practice medicine.

A Judge Stands up to a Hospital: “Step Aside” and Give a Dying Man Ivermectin

The judge’s finest moment may have been when he dashed the most glaring myth about ivermectin—that it is not safe, despite decades of use that shows otherwise. Noting that all drugs have side effects, Judge Fullerton listed ivermectin’s effects from a government website.
“(N)umber one, generally well tolerated; number two, dizziness; number three, pruritus; number four, nausea/diarrhea. These are the side effects for the dosage that’s being asked to be administered,” he said. “The risks of these side effects are so minimal that Mr. Ng’s current situation outweighs that risk by one-hundredfold.”
