Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been blind to a drug that could save lives from the coronavirus pandemic and instead has been “dodging blame for the fiasco in aged care homes”.
Mr Bolt said he had to call the Prime Minister “to account” for what is taking place.
“For months I’ve said Morrison’s own government and the Victorian one have done too little to save the old. “But what did Scott Morrison do to save the old. To prepare the aged care sector… Not much”.
Mr Bolt said there is another way to fight this virus apart from the “savage bans” being inflicted on the populace.
He said there should be “tougher rules to make sure infected people do not leave home, much faster testing of people… and better protection for the aged, which the Morrison government and the Victorian government failed so miserably to provide”.
“And then, yes, social distancing for the rest of us, but then open up. Let kids to go school, let Victorians visit each other again, let shops open”.
Mr Bolt also said hydroxychloroquine “could be our best cure in the worst pandemic in our generation” and is a drug which the Prime Minister has been “blind” to in combating the virus.
